Hi friends! I’m ready to get back to school to have a fun, festive three weeks in our school library! Here’s a peek at what will happen in our space this week! Decorating for the Holidays I like to have a festive holiday theme for the weeks between Thanksgiving and our winter break. This year, we’ll be in a woodland winter wonderland, featuring our school
Hi friends! Our temperatures are still in the nineties here in San Antonio, but we’re enjoying fall learning centers in our school library anyway! Draw a Bat Bookmark At one round table, students can draw and color a bat on a blank bookmark. I printed bat drawing instructions from this website. Pencils, crayons, and cut up copy paper are all it takes! Fall Symmetry I
Hi friends! I’m trying to NOT look like Grumpy Cat today as I enjoy my last day of winter break! I love my job, but I loathe my early morning alarm! Who’s ready for some library centers for the New Year? I found 2 great ones that are fantastic and FREE! And a library lesson idea with an engaging tech component! 2015 Calendar Questions January
Hi friends! I went simple for my Thanksgiving library center this year. If you are in school this week, you are welcome to share this on your school campus. Hi friends! I hope you are enjoying sunny spring weather in your part of the world! Here in San Antonio we are getting ready to celebrate Fiesta! My library centers will all be spring-y this week. At one center, students will be drawing birds on bookmarks. Are your students as art-starved as mine? My students love to draw, and appreciate simple instructions they can follow.

Our students love this classic story, and ask to check it out all the time! This week they’ll be able to listen to him run, run as fast as he can while they are surrounded by gingerbread decorations.
Hi friends! We are getting ready to pack up every book in our library so that we can get new carpet this summer. Before we do that, we have to finish fourth and fifth grade research projects and take field trips to the public library with second and third grade. And our library centers are still engaging students during their weekly checkout visits! Here’s what
Hi friends! This week I get to travel to Houston for our state library conference. I can’t wait! Before I left, I had to set up centers that would pretty much run themselves, since I know that my assistant will be super busy while I’m gone. Here’s what we have going on: Angry Birds bookmarks: I printed out the sign for this station, cut up
Hi friends! I decided to start posting the library centers that I actually have set up each week in our library, so that you can see our rotation of work stations. This week, beginning Monday, April 9, here are our learning centers: I have a Monarch butterfly chrysalis in a net container, with butterfly and caterpillar books displayed on the same table and magnifying glasses
