Scholastic Book Fair meets Dollar Tree
Hi friends!
I want to share a few of the bargains I found at the Dollar Tree to help us with our Scholastic All-Star Book Fairs!
Sports-themed goodie bags for my volunteers: 8 for $1
Rolls of star gift wrap, with primary colors to match the orange & yellow vinyl tablecloths: $1 each (I used this gift wrap to wrap up boxes for the center of our display tables, to create a multi-level display)
Star/sports themed centerpiece: $1 each
I’ll use these as decorations at the cashier table.
Colorful star bookmarks: 25 for $1
For my volunteers I’ll make goodie bags with these inside:
star bookmarks from Dollar Tree
star necklaces from Oriental Trading Company
star notepads from the Scholastic Resource catalog
biscotti from Costco (seems a little fancier than candy or cookies)
$5 gift certificate to book fair (using my Scholastic Dollars to pay for these)
Does anyone else have a special way to honor your book fair volunteers?
What a great idea! I have given gift certifiicates before, but never thought to do treat bags. Good Luck with your fair, ours is next week!

The goodie bags were a BIG hit! Even though the bags were simple and inexpensive, my volunteers acted like kids at a birthday party when I handed them their colorful goodie bags.
I will definitely keep doing this!
