Elf on the Library Shelf, Day 4
Hi friends!
Our elf has run into trouble on our library shelf. Guess who arrived today?
The Grinch! And you know that fella’s up to no good!
Poor Elf! But you know that he has a few tricks up his little red sleeve, too. I wonder if he’ll find a way to get even? You better sleep with one eye open, Mr. Grinch!
One of my district colleagues is staging her Elf on the Library Shelf in a much more literary way. Her elf poses with clues to a book in the library.

This morning one of my second grade students asked me if I have a hard time finding the elf when I get to work in the morning. Ya know, after he’s been playing around in the library all night. My student was completely serious.
THEY BELIEVE! It’s totally worth it!
I did this in my library today and almost had an uprising. Our elf was taped to “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and we had to read the book to free our elf. My Kindergarteners were very upset. One stood up with a pencil in his hand and said “who’s with me? Free Dobby!” I had to stop him before he went over to the shelf where the elf was!
