TBT: Library Orientation

Hi friends!

Are you still enjoying summer? Or are you gearing up for a new school year and library orientation?

Here’s a Throwback Thursday post to help you with some library orientation resources!

Library Learners Throwback Thursday

Last year I shared Library Orientation Videos on this post here. Follow my Library Videos Pinterest board for more library videos to use in your instruction!

A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about using Plickers in Library Orientation here. I’ll make up a few questions, like: How many books can you check out? How do you renew a book? How many magazines can you check out? What happens if you have an overdue book? (I may add some comedic answers to this one, involving library dragons) What happens if you lose a book? (Again, extreme peril may be one of the multiple choice answers, just to make it memorable!)

In 2012, I blogged about gathering data with a survey at library orientation. You could conduct your survey via Google Form at your library computers or via Plickers questions.

You could teach your students about book care with “Animals Should NOT Borrow Library Books” or my Book Baby.

And be sure to load up your Wish List for the Teachers Pay Teachers Back to School Sale, August 3 and 4!
