Book Review Library Centers

I encourage students to write book reviews all year long. I believe that peer recommendations have incredible power in our students’ reading lives. I have seen how a student-to-student conversation can impact book choices and reading motivation.

During February, I have a center with heart shapes and colorful markers. It’s super simple to set up and maintain! Students write about books they love, and I add their heartfelt recommendations to a bulletin board in our school library.

We have a book review library center every month, with seasonal shapes and graphics, to keep those book reviews on display. Students can read them, and stakeholders like parents and administrators can see some of the learning that happens in the library.

You can make these shapes yourself, or save time with my TPT product, Book Review Library Centers. One lucky winner will get a copy for free in our Valentine Blog Hop Giveaway, together with prizes from all of the other librarian-authors!
